Cysgod y Garn is a luxurious five star bed and breakfast in Frongoch, just outside Bala in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. The property is built from traditional stone, in keeping with the surroundings, and offers the convenience of modern facilities. Cysgod y Garn is located within the National Park with its spectacular mountains, beautiful green valleys and heather clad moorlands. Bala is an ideal base from which to explore Snowdonia, north and mid Wales and within an hour visitors can be on the coast at Conwy or Harlech, at the beautiful Italianate village of Portmeirion or exploring the historic city of Chester.

There are a great many outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the Bala region, including white water rafting less than half a mile from Cysgod y Garn at the National White Water Centre. Challenging canoeing can be found on the nearby River Tryweryn and there are local opportunities for clay shooting, golf and ten pin bowling, to name a few. Sailing and windsurfing can be enjoyed on Bala Lake, fly fishing on the River Dee and mountain climbing, abseiling, horse and pony trekking and off road driving can all be found within easy reach. Wherever your interests lie, you are sure to find an activity to suit nearby!

Rooms Description

Each of our spacious en-suite guest rooms is decorated and furnished to the highest standards. One of the rooms has a Jacuzzi bath, another an antique bed and the last has a balcony with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. All rooms have their own sitting area and are complete with colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities, radio alarms and hairdryer. The property is centrally heated throughout to ensure your comfort, whatever the time of year.

Specialities

There is a large and comfortable lounge where guests can relax in the evenings and this leads out onto the conservatory and patio area with fabulous local views. All food is freshly prepared using local and organic produce, much of which originates from our own organic farm.
