Cae Gwyn is a warm and welcoming bed and breakfast accommodation set in a centuries old former farmhouse at the edge of Penrhyndeudraeth village in Gwynedd, North Wales. It has a large garden/picnic area with great views over the mountains and estuary. Watch the steam train climb through the village and round the ridge off towards Tan y bwlch. The south facing garden is for use by the guests and has several seating areas and loungers. We have secure storage for bikes and repair/cleaning areas. Cleaning and drying is available for walkers. Packed lunches can be made up on request. The village has a good fish and chip shop and Chinese take-away and if you wish to bring back a take-away, these can be eaten in the dining area. Plates, glasses and cutlery can be provided.
Penrhyndeudraeth village is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The High Street has two public houses serving food, a Spar shop, post office, bank, Chinese take away, fish and chip shop, deli and bakery and two cafés. A chemist and doctor's surgery are located on the road to Porthmadog near the church. At the top of the village is the Ffestiniog steam railway station while less than two miles away is the famous village of Portmeirion.
