Porthmadog is one of the most popular and prettiest towns in Snowdonia and it has the perfect location for travel to any part of it with ease. With Snowdonia as a backdrop and a coastline with beaches second to none, there couldn't be a more attractive spot for a holiday. In June 2009, the Royal Sportsman was awarded a Rosette for its food. It has always been our ambition to make the Hotel's food the best in Porthmadog, using the finest of locally sourced Welsh food ingredients combined with the skills and experience of our chefs. The style of cooking is Modern European with a Mediterranean influence with a hint of classic British fayre at lunch or in the evening. We offer seasonal menus that combine the tastes of those who like traditional dishes with those who like to experience more adventurous cooking, served in the restaurant, bar, lounge or garden. Only local Welsh produce is used in our kitchen. A fantastic children's menu is also available.

Rooms Description

The hotel has 28 different sized bedrooms on three floors, for individuals, couples, families, those who have difficulty in walking or are disabled and even tour groups. Regretfully, the hotel has no lift but assistance with luggage is always available. All bedrooms are en-suite and non smoking Apart from single rooms, we have either standard or larger/superior double and or twin rooms. All have been recently refurbished. Some larger rooms are also used as family rooms and many have a double and single bed in them and are interchangeable as twin or double rooms. Larger/superior rooms are far more spacious than standard rooms, have new LCD flat screen televisions, additional furniture, bath and shower, bath wraps and superior toiletries. Standard rooms are smaller with shower (all new) only but nevertheless comfortable.

All public facilities are on the ground floor with ease of access for all. Wheel chair ramp access into the hotel. Children and babies welcome - cots available. Early check in/out on request. High chairs available. Dogs welcome in specified garden rooms only.
