The Royal Sportsman is a family owned and managed 3 star hotel with a strong Mediterranean culture in the town of Porthmadog. It is family friendly and we welcome our younger visitors, from babies to teenagers. It is renowned for its strong personal customer care. Our chefs have developed our own distinctive style of cooking and use only fresh local ingredients in our imaginative menu. Porthmadog is one of the most popular towns in Snowdonia with its individual shops, magnificent sandy beaches at Black Rock sands or Borth Y Gest, coves & walks. There is also much to see and do in the local area including Portmeirion, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland railways,The harbour and Maritime Museum, not to mention the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. Snowonia boasts more activities and attractions than any other park in the UK.

The hotel offers two very different types of menu using fresh locally sourced ingredients. The A La Carte Menu is designed to cater for those who want to experience a classic European style of cooking and is served in Peppino's Restaurant. Traditional Welsh favourites are also on offer in Gelert's Bar or Lorenzo's Lounge. We cater for a wide range of tastes and are only too happy to provide for special dietary requirements. The Child menu is a healthy options one. all fresh, nothing frozen. Children and dogs are welcomed at all times in Gelert's Bar with its original large open fireplace with log fires in winter.

We offer family, double, twin and single rooms-most with en-suite facilities. All rooms are equipped with tea, coffee and hot chocolate, colour TV, hair dryers and radio alarm clocks. Complimentary toiletries are provided and newspapers are available on request.
