We are an 11 bedroom (all en-suite) family run hotel in the heart of Carmarthen Town. The hotel dates back to 1776 and was used by the early cattle drovers who traveled the long distances from rural Wales to the important cattle markets. There are markets held on Wednesday and Saturday of each week that sell a range of local crafts and fayre. Pembrokeshire with its beautiful beaches, Cardiganshire with its scenic coastline and the imposing Brecon Beacons are all within easy traveling distance, as are the National Botanic Gardens and Aberglasney Gardens. The hotel makes a useful stop off point for anyone visiting the local colleges, hospitals or catching one of the ferries that travel daily from Pembroke or Fishguard to Southern Ireland. We have ample on site parking for our guests vehicles.
Our intimate, olde worlde restaurant has been converted from the original stabling. We specialize in home-made dishes prepared from local produce and the restaurant is especially well regarded for our traditional Sunday roasts which are very popular and are priced to appeal to the family. The restaurant is a smoke free environment for the comfort of our visitors. Lunch is served between 12noon and 2.30pm and dinner between 6pm and 9pm. The restaurant is also available for meetings, functions and private parties, seating and catering for up to 50 guests .
