Penwern Fach, Welsh for 'Head of the Elder Grove', once a working farm, has now 'retired' to a more peaceful way of life welcoming holiday guests. The original stone buildings have been sympathetically converted into five award winning self-catering cottages. Situated just over a mile from the picturesque village of Cenarth with its famous waterfalls, our traditional Welsh Cottages are set in the heart of beautiful countryside and whilst it is easy to feel you've completely escaped to another world, all the activities, places to go and places to see are never far away. We are only six miles inland from the spectacular coastline of Cardigan Bay with its glorious sandy beaches, cliff-top walks and home of the Bottlenose Dolphins and Grey Seals.
Penwern Fach Holiday Cottages are set amidst ten acres of glorious countryside and look out across the rolling landscape of the Teifi Valley and Preseli Hills. Once a working farm, the original stone buildings have been converted into charming cosy cottages ideal for family holidays at any time of the year. Accommodation styles vary from a pretty studio cottage - ideal for a romantic break for two - to a four bedroom, two storey property with plenty of space for the larger family. The cottages, all named after rivers in the surrounding area, are a tasteful blend of old world charm and modern convenience. We have retained the stone walls and exposed beams, but you will find everything for the present day needs like fully equipped kitchens with fridge/freezers, microwaves, and dishwashers.
