Tyn y Berth Mountain Centre - Machynlleth

Two outdoor education centres offering bunkhouse style accommodation for groups of up to thirty near Corris on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park

We provide high quality Outdoor Learning courses to Schools, Colleges and Youth groups. We also provide leadership training and development courses and MLTE training and assessment courses for teachers and youth leaders . Adventurous activities run from the Centres include rock climbing, mountain walking, abseiling, gorge scrambling, underground mine exploration (a bit like caving). We also have ropes courses, orienteering, team building and problem solving activities. Courses at TYB centre around personal development. Social and emotional learning are important parts of the residential outdoor courses which we provide. We also offer GCSE and A-level PE, DofE award and field studies courses. Ty'n y Berth is a licensed provider Outdoor and Adventurous Activities under the terms of the Adventurous Activities Licensing Act. (AALA)

A refurbished, converted village school, with spacious centrally heated accommodation for up to 30 students in rooms sleeping between 4 and 8, with single, double or twin rooms for staff. Ty'n y Berth has a large main room which is used as a dining room, class room and lounge. TYB has a small playing field adjacent to the Centre, and backs onto open farmland which can be used for football & rounders etc.

Rooms Description

Both Centres can accomodate groups of up to 30 with most rooms sleeping between 1 and 6.

Specialities

Available exclusively to organised groups, be it clubs & societies, groups of friends or family, student unions, schools, collages or youth groups.
