Doctor Who and Doctor Spinoff Torchwood, as many fans of both of these BBC series know, has arrived in Cardiff. Torchwood was mostly filmed in this Welsh city to great effect, and Cardiff seems to have adopted Dr Who and Torchwood with main characters Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen.
Doctor Who and Torchwood fans will be making a beeline for the Dr Who and Torchwood exhibition based in the renamed Red Dragon Shopping Centre in Cardiff Bay (situated opposed the Welsh Millennium Centre. Free parking and a Doctor Who shop are on-site. The Doctor Who and Torchwood Exhibition, The Red Dragon Centre, Atlantic Wharf Cardiff Bay
One of the most popular attractions at the moment in the Red Dragon Centre on Cardiff Bay is the Doctor Who Exhibition, appropriately based here in Cardiff where much filming in both the recent Dr Who series and offshot Torchwood has taken place.
Free car parking is adjacent to the Red Dragon Centre, a bonus indeed, and there's a choice of restaurants inside including Spice Route and Old Orleans. There's even a nightclub here now - Evolution and nearby R Bar.
The Doctor Who Exhibition here at the Red Dragon Centre is pulling in the crowds for sure. Numerous costumes, props and monstors and creatures from the series. Find out here the locations in Cardiff where the Dr Who series was filmed. Under a fiver to get in too, so great value. The 'Docto Who Up close Shop is also on-site and that's free to get in. The Tardis, Daleks and costumes worn by Billie Piper and David Tennant in the recent Doctor Who series are all here. The Dr Who exhibition is open 7 days a week, from 11am to 8pm. There's some real gems in here for Dr Who and Torchwood fans, with due attention paid to the Cardiff locations links from the recent series, but also a fair number of exhibits from old Dr Who's, for example K-9.
