Colwyn Bay & Rhos on Sea

Outside of Llandudno, the rest of Colwyn Bay's splendid coast including Rhos on Sea tends to get a little overlooked. You're missing out on some superb sandy beaches (some of which are blue flag), plus great promenades at Rhos-on-Sea which lays claim to having the smallest chapel in Wales on their promenade.

Situated between Rhyl and Llandudno there's a choice of glorious sandy beaches including Abergele, Kinmel Bay and Rhos-on-Sea itself. Most have direct access from the promenade. The cycle track runs directly along the coast and is very popular with families and those looking for gentle cycling with panoramic views of the Bay. The full stretch of beach on Colwyn Bay runs for 2.5km and consists of fine shingle. The Colwyn Bay Rhos on Sea stretch is a blue flag beach.

Well worth considering Colwyn Bay as another seaside holiday resort of choice, with come choice attractions such as the Eirias Park and Gardens, Dinosaur Wolrd and the Welsh Mountain Zoo (see weblink right for details) just on your doorstep.

Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn and Rhos-on-Sea are often recommended for short breaks too.
