Pwllgwaelod from Dinas HeadFishguard is a pretty Pembrokeshire town, and again an ideal base for exploring the prehistoric sites in the Preseli Hills area, plus offering easy access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The 1971 film of Under Milk Wood (fittingly staring Richard Burton) was filmed here in Fishguard. A bustling lititle Pembrokeshire town with a busy harbour there's some good opportunities for diving in the area, plus an annual International Music Festival takes place hear in the last week of July. Both fishing and horse riding are popular leisure pursuits in the Fishguard area (see below and weblinks right). You can expect some delicious fresh fish on many a local restaurant menu, plus checkout Miranda's famous Preserves (weblink right). The main Miranda's Preserves shop is in nearby Goodwick.
Visit the nearby Castell Henllys ancient Iron Age site which dates from around 600BC. An amazing Iron Age site, much excavation and archaeological work has gone on here. The site includes a Granary, Simithy, an Iron Age Farming area and there are exhibitions, toilets, trails and a shop on-site.
