St Brides Bay Tourist Information

St Bride's Bay, a mammoth arch of a bay, faces the Atlantic full on. This, combined with it's huge choice of dreamy endless sandy beaches which never get crowded, makes it a haven for watersports and beach holidays.

Here at Newgale, Broad Haven and other hotspots like Druidstone are some of the best beaches across the Wales coast. Surfing is particularly popular in St Bride's Bay, particularly around prime surfing hotspot Newgale with surf shop right on the beach

Best Beaches St Bride's Bay

Life's a beach on St Bride's Bay! Take your pick from the bustling beach resort of Broad Haven. Windsurfing is more popular here than surfing due to the slightly calmer waters. Nice and accessible, as you expect from this beach adjacent to the busy Pembrokeshire resort of Broad Haven, there's a car park very close to the beach. Broad Haven Beach is recommended for families too, as it's a gently shelving beach with lots of shallow, safe water for younger children.

Moving upto the north of St Bride's Bay sits Newgale Beach. No trouble parking here - there's a choice of car parks near the beach. Newgale stretches for two long sandy miles, so it's rarely crowded. The best of the surf is here and Newgale beach is backed on by a big pebble bank. Just off the beach are surf shops and cafes. Check the surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing weblinks right for more details on accessing watersports in St Bride's Bay

Ramsey Island, Skomer Island and Skokholm Island

There's a coupule of National Nature Reserves here in Pembrokeshire too - Skomer Island (a Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve) and Ramsey Island (an RSPB Nature Reserve). See websites right for RSPB and Wildlife Trust links. Boats run regularly to both islands. To Skomer Island boats run daily from Martins Haven from 1st April to the end of October. For both Skomer and Ramsey Islands check the weblinks right for full details on boat trips and bird watching guided tours, and the spectacular choice of birds you can expect to see through all seasons!

See seals and dolphins on boat trips around Skomer or take a family boat trip to Ramsey Island. Or how about a spot of diving around Skomer Marine Nature Reserve or Ramsey Island!
